- 4 - Garlic Cloves, Minced
- Salt & Pepper To Taste
Honey Sauce -
- 70g (2.4oz) - Honey

- 350g (12.3oz) - Basmati Rice, Washed
- 700ml (700g) - Cold Water
- ½ Tbsp (10ml) - Peanut Oil
- 2 - Medium Sized Heads of Broccoli, Florets & Stalks Trimmed
- 1 - Spring Onion (Scallion), Thinly Sliced (Green Stem Only)
- 1 ½ Tbsp (14g) - Black & White Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- In a bowl, add the chicken thigh, onion powder, minced garlic and seasoning to taste. Mix well to combine.
- In a separate bowl, combine the honey, sriracha sauce, apple cider vinegar and sesame oil. Whisk to combine.
- Place a large saucepan over high heat. Add in the basmati rice, cold water and salt, mix well and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, place on a lid and cook for 14 minutes. Turn off the heat, leave the lid on and let sit for 4 minutes. Remove the lid and fluff the rice up with a fork or spatula and set aside.
- Place a large pan over medium-high heat. Add in the olive oil and sear the chicken for 10 minutes. Add in the honey sauce and cook for 2 minutes to reduce the sauce, creating a glaze that will coat the chicken well. Add in the black and white sesame seeds, check seasoning level, mix to combine and remove from the heat.
- Place a clean pan or wok over medium-high and add in the peanut oil and broccoli. Saute for 3-4 minutes or until the broccoli is slightly charred and aldente. Add in the sesame oil and seasoning to taste. Mix well and remove from the heat.
- Serve in meal prep containers evenly distributing each element of the dish between 5 containers. Dig in.

Recipe Notes
Honey Chicken Meal Prep Storage Instructions
To store the meal prep, place the airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days (I said 5 in the video, but 3 days are best) and in the freezer for up to 4 months. These are best stored in the freezer straight away if you know you won’t be able to eat them all fresh. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
Honey Chicken Meal Prep Reheating Instructions
To reheat, place in the microwave for a quick and easy reheating method. Alternatively, the rice, chicken and broccoli can be separated and heated in pans or pots if you don’t want to put them in the microwave. To do so, place the pots and pans over medium heat and gently heat until hot, mixing regularly.

It’s been hard to find Sriracha at the store. Is there a replacement hot sauce you recommend?
You can use pretty much any hot sauce, just use one of your favourites.
My husband loves this recipe! … It’s been hard to find Sriracha at the store. Is there a replacement hot sauce you recommend?
Great to hear! Thank you. You can use any type of hot sauce you prefer.
Hey Jack,
I’ve been having an issue with not being able to taste the sauce as well once I reheat the chicken in the microwave. Additionally, I had to add cornstarch to the sauce because it wasn’t thickening enough when making the recipe. Do you have any tips?
Hi Andrew,
That’s strange to hear. If you’re having issues with flavour, id recommend increasing the amount of ingredients that go into the sauce. The sauce will thicken and reduce which increases the strength of flavour, without the addition of cornflour to thicken. Id say the biggest problem you’re having is not letting the sauce reduce enough to get that flavour.
I’m obcessed with this recipe, first ever meal prep I’ve attempted and I never cook and I cannot believe that I managed to cook something that tasted so good! All ingredients were easy to find and nutrition guide posted meant I could easily add to nutracheck. Will be making again soon!
That’s amazing to hear, Emma. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for making it!
Absolutely a delicious recipe 😋 the taste is so good. Thanks to you mate.
Awesome to hear. Cheers Frank.
This was great. Also did the breakfast egg/potato/Pepper/”sausage” (I subbed out lean ground chicken with sausage seasoning) meal prep. Really easy to put together, no obscure ingredients, really appreciate it. Also thanks for introducing me to siracha mayo!
Fantastic to hear you enjoyed it. Thank you 🙏
This is delicious! Easy enough to throw together for a quick dinner and tasty enough to eat for a week straight. Definitely adding this to my dinner rotation.
Glad you enjoyed it, Catherine. Thank you.
How do I make sure I put the right amount of serving size in the container? If I’m making 5 servings how do I make sure I’m getting 700 calories in a container?
Hey David. The best way to calculate efficiently is to weigh everything as a whole and divide by five between the containers.
Had to watch the video. The dish was nice but the instructions are different from what you do in the video. For example, with the brocolli, you add peanut oil, broc and seasoning in the video. In the instructions, you’ve write add peanut oil, brocolli and then add sesame oil? I got a bit confused.
Hi, Jade. The sesame oil is an optional ingredient if you wish to add it. That’s why it’s different.
